Malcolm and the Machine snapps

Here is why Mumptown has been very busy for the past few weeks. We had the opportunity to illustrate a lovely (if not strange) story written by John Dredge for Anorak. The issue is out now (find it in magma, whsmiths...plus many more) Once we get our copy we will post some pics, for now here are a few snapshots of the SIX pages Mumptown created! We had so much fun doing this, and we hope you like it!

Us at Mumptown got very excited when we heard the news that Wu Tang were doing a reunion gig in Manchester this August. It's safe to say we will be purchasing our tickets pretty sharpish, I don't know exactly how many of the clan would show up to a gig these days, but needless to say it will be a good show anyways. Oli and I have chosen one each (of many) favourite Wu tracks...enjoy!

The 18th was Ian Curtis 30th anniversary of his death.

A true song writer who inspired thousands of shit modern bands.

Speachless

Oli and I are both fans of Chloe Sevigny as an actress, and we both agree that she has never really done a bad film?! Woo! I, however admire her for another reason too...her style. Whether she is dressed for the red carpet or just hanging out...on her skateboard! She has an effortless cool manor about her, she has a real striking unique look that I love, being a former model gives her a strong fashion background. Last year she designed her own collection which included both men's and women's pieces for Manhattan Boutique 'Opening Ceremony' (see picture 3 for example) The collection was sold exclusively in Barneys, Colette and Dover Street Market. The collection received mixed reviews, as I imagine she herself does...but...in my humble opinion I think she's ace, and definitely one of my favourite style crushes.







Pretty as a picture...much Love! Oh and here's a little song I've had on repeat lately, Its off the new Breakage album, which is definitely worth a listen!

I can finally reveal this now... The last few weeks Mumptown have been working on a print for our very good friends Ste and Kerry for there special day...

Zara Love

Some lovely images from the new Zara May 2010 Lookbook. I really love the laid back casual look. Plus the muted colours make them easy to wear pieces. Also the Miu Miu inspired playsuit is so cute...and on my wish list, along with the denim "bubble" pants and the floral jumpsuit :)

This Is Doing Nothing For Me...

It's fair to say that Parra is definitely one of our favourite Illustrators/Graphic Artist/Typographer. We have looked to him for inspiration for a while now...and his stuff never gets old! We especially like the way he makes it easy for everyone interested to own a piece of his work...with many collaborations with commercial companies like Nike and Vans. Not only that, he has his own ventures such as his clothing label Rockwell...Most known for crazy tees showcasing his artwork. We're both lucky enough to own a little bit of Parra, I got the Parra x Max 1's (with a little help from my friend Jack Morgan) and Oli got to pick up the Parra book on our trip to Paris, and it's no secret that we both treasure our items...ha! Parra we love you.

Studio Chu

Julian Pablo Manzelli better know as CHU or Studio CHU has been a huge influence on our work. He is from Argentina and is apart of the DOMA collective, his roots are graffiti but has his fingers in all sorts of creative aspects such as graphic design, motion graphics, gallery installations, toy and plush design always keeping his very distinctive style... With out a doubt he is my favorite graffiti/street artist, i bet South America is a brighter place because of him... His Flickr is always updated with amazing work...
